    A gin crafted with unwavering respect for the Shakotan Peninsula’s terroir.

    Using herbs grown and carefully managed in-house, every step—from cultivation to distillation—is handled by the distillery.

    Guests can experience this craftsmanship through a botanical blending workshop and tasting.

    The first day’s highlight is an elemental moment: a Shakotan sunset aperitif followed by Ainu gastronomy around the fire.

    An Ainu chef prepares a pure, innovative outdoor dining experience over a simple fire pit—an immersion into “Shakotan Time,” flowing from the Jōmon era into the living Ainu culture.

    Otaru Morning Market Tour

    The Otaru Gastronomy Tour offers a premium guiding experience with a local chef and includes an exclusive optional early‑morning seafood auction, offering a deeper look into Otaru’s fishing culture followed by a fresh seafood breakfast. 

    Together with the chef, you explore the market to select the day’s best catch for a fishermen’s hut lunch, then enjoy a nostalgic Otaru coffee break. 

    Without the auction and breakfast, the tour begins at 9:00 with seafood selection.

    Banya Fishermen’s Hut Gastronomy

    Discover the roots of Hokkaido’s modernisation through the historic herring fisheries and Kitamae-bune trade. In the Shukutsu area, clusters of traditional banya fishermen’s huts offer a nostalgic glimpse into this era. 

    After exploring these historic sites, you’ll step into a ban’ya where a chef prepares fresh seafood purchased at the morning market, inviting guests to join in and enjoy making local dishes together. 

    Gather around the irori hearth for charcoal‑grilled flavours and experience the warmth of a life once lived in harmony with the sea.

For tours in October, the average temperature ranges from 12–15°C, with noticeable differences between daytime and early morning/evening.
Please dress in layers so you can adjust easily to changing conditions.

While there is no strenuous walking involved, we recommend comfortable, weather‑appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for light outdoor activity.
Raincoats and other essential items for wet weather will be provided on a rental basis.
